Ask Dr. Gourmet

Could you reply and/or post some "recipe guide" meal items for Coumadin users similar to the ones you have on your "lactose intolerant recipe guide" window?

Or maybe a week's worth of sample menus? When you're 82 and confronted with all this all of a sudden, it gets to be confusing. My doctor only says eat what you want and we'll adjust the dosage. That doesn't hit me too well.

Dr. Gourmet Says...

You must be reading my mind. This has been under development and was posted to the side the day of your email. Here is the link:

http://www.drgourmet.com/warfarin/warfarinrecipes.shtml

There will soon be an eatTHISdiet plan for users of Coumadin® (warfarin). It will be a 6 week plan that will use only "safe" recipes (those with lower Vitamin K content). Look for it in the next few weeks on the site. It will be announced in one of my daily email newsletters, as well. You can sign up on the home page by putting in your email address (tell all your friends--and your doctor).

Thanks for writing,
