You don't need a lot of oil for this glaze. As it roasts, the salmon gives up a bit of oil, and if you use more oil in the pan or the glaze, this will be, quite simply, too greasy.

The 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes is only sort of spicy and if you like REALLY spicy, add another 1/4 teaspoon.


It's clear that eating fish is great for you and one of my favorite is salmon. This is both because I love the flavor and that there are remarkably high levels of Omega 3 fats found in this delicious and versatile fish. I have a lot of folks write in and ask about all the different choices in the market and which is best for their recipes.

When you step up to the fish counter the salmon you find won't necessarily be clearly labeled. You can, however, fairly easily tell a lot about it. Firstly, salmon is divided into two broad categories: Atlantic and Pacific. Salmon 


Salmon with Chili Lime Glaze

Servings = 2 | Serving size =4 ounces salmon with glaze

Cooking Time = 30 Minutes

This recipe can be multiplied by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

This recipe makes great leftovers, hot or cold.

Serve with Brown Rice or Cilantro Lime Rice or Cilantro Lime Rice - Low Sodium Version


Serve with Shredded Brussels Sprouts or Parmesan Squash. or Pan Grilled Broccoli or Shredded Brussels Sprouts - Low Sodium Version

2 tsp extra virgin olive oil (divided)
1/2 tsp lime zest
1 lime (juiced)
2 tsp honey
1/8 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp salt
fresh ground black pepper (to taste)
2 4 ounce salmon filets

Place a skillet in the oven and preheat the oven to 375F.

Place one teaspoon of olive oil in a bowl with the lime zest, lime juice, honey, cumin, red pepper flakes, paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk together.

When the oven comes to temperature, place one teaspoon of olive oil in the pan and then the salmon filets.

Roast for about 8 minutes, then turn over the filets, pour the glaze over the filets and roast on the other side for 5 to 7 minutes.

Serve topped with the glaze.
