This is a delicious sauce and great for those who don't like their horseradish spread straight out of the bottle. I love the flavors but it may be too strong for some (or not strong enough for others). You can adjust the amount of horseradish in this sauce to your taste.

You can use any steak with this sauce. Flank steak or even hamburgers are great choices.


 

Steak with Horseradish Cream

Servings: 4 | Serving size: 4 ounces steak with sauce

Cooking Time: 30 Minutes

This recipe can be multiplied by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

This recipe makes great leftovers, and the horseradish sauce keeps well in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

Serve with Healthy French Fries or Home Fries - Low Sodium Version or Home Fries or Thick Cut Yam Fries or Thick Cut Yam Fries - Low Sodium Version or Plain Baked Potato

AND

Serve with Parmesan Squash. or Pan Grilled Broccoli or Pan Grilled Asparagus or Cole Slaw or Healthy Caesar Salad or Zucchini with Sun Dried Tomatoes or Zucchini with Sun Dried Tomatoes - Low Sodium Version or Parmesan Zucchini

4 Tbsp reduced fat sour cream
1 Tbsp prepared horseradish
1 Tbsp shallot (minced)
1/4 tsp salt
fresh ground black pepper (to taste)
4 4 ounce sirloin steaks

Place the sour cream in a small bowl with the horseradish, shallot and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Blend until smooth and chill.

When ready to serve place a large skillet in the oven and preheat to 375°F.

Sprinkle the steaks with 1/8 teaspoon salt and the pepper. Place in the hot pan and cook on the first side for about 5 minutes. Turn and cook for another 4 minutes for medium rare.

Serve each steak topped with 1 1/2 tablespoons sauce.
