Comfort Food Week

Best Macaroni & Cheeses

We're continuing our comfort food theme this week with our roundup of the best macaroni & cheese options on the market - other than making your own, of course! Here are our picks for the mac 'n' cheese you'll want to keep in the freezer.

Blake's All Natural Farmhouse Mac & Cheese
Here, the rich, creamy sauce is unadulterated by additions and you are free to enjoy the excellent moderately salty cheesiness over slightly overdone macaroni noodles.

Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese
This stuff is really good. I wish that it had about 100 mg less sodium. It'd be tastier, but even so, hands down this is the best ready made mac and cheese on the market. The sauce is rich and creamy.

Saffron Road Macaroni & Cheese (Serves 2)
Made with Wisconsin cheddar cheese, this has the real, slightly grainy texture and clumping you get from melting real cheese and not some overly-processed cheese-like substance. The flavor is all real cheddar cheese, as well, being not overly salty but plenty flavorful. Another stellar offering from Saffron Road.

Banquet Queso Mac another panelist put it, "if you like mac and cheese and you like pepperjack cheese, this is for you."
