Ask Dr. Gourmet

What do you think of the 500 calorie diet with Vitamin B and lipotropics?

I am curious what you think about the 500 calorie diet with Vitamin B and lipotropics.

Dr. Gourmet Says...

a pill bottle with bicolored capsules spilling from it

This is quackery at its finest. No one should be on a 500 calorie diet and there's no such thing as a "lipotropic." Such schemes are scams by quack supplement manufacturers and are designed only to lighten your wallet.

Such people don't care about your health - only your money.

If you want to lose weight, there's only one way. Eat fewer calories and exercise more. There's a lot of information on the Dr. Gourmet website that can help you get started. Here's a link to our section on the How and Why of Eating Healthy.
