Ask Dr. Gourmet

Can your GERD-friendly tomato sauce be frozen?

I don't usually can my tomato sauces; I freeze them in single servings or enough for two. I am wondering, can I freeze your recipe for GERD-friendly tomato sauce? Do I put the baking soda in before freezing (if I can freeze) or after it's been thawed?

Dr. Gourmet Says...

a dish of tomato sauce

You can freeze the GERD Friendly Tomato Sauce just as you would with any other tomato sauce. Add the baking soda as called for in the recipe and then freeze.
