Ask Dr. Gourmet

Would drinking hot water with lemon affect my INR?

I normally have a glass of hot water and lemon juice in the morning. Would this affect my INR level, since I take my warfarin the night before?

Dr. Gourmet Says...

hot water with lemon

This should not be a problem, especially if it is something you do on a consistent basis. Lemon juice contains no measurable Vitamin K.
