Can I take Chromium Picolinate while I'm taking Coumadin?
Dr. Gourmet Says...
There is no evidence to support that chromium picolinate is very effective for medical conditions. Most of the research has been disappointing and there's no compelling reason to take this supplement. I cannot find specific evidence that there is an interaction with Coumadin® (warfarin), but supplements are very poorly regulated by the U.S. government. Put very simply, you have no idea what is being put in the supplement that you might take.
Because of this I recommend that people taking Coumadin do not take supplements other than those specifically recommended by their physician.
